Get set to glow and be wedding ready!

Our top tips for essential bridal beauty...

Every bride wants to look radiant and beautiful on her big day.

With all those cameras snapping away, making memories for you to treasure forever, you’ll want to ensure your skin is looking its absolute best!

There is so much planning, stress, pre-ceremony nerves (and often crash dieting) that brides endure, and let’s face it, did any bride ever get a perfect 8 hours beauty sleep the night before their wedding? It is probably the least naturally vibrant our skin will ever look. So there is even more reason to give yourself some essential TLC and prepare for your special day.

Get that glow

Water - Maintains moisture in the body and is perfect for keeping your skin hydrated and supple. As well as being a natural appetite suppressant, it helps the body metabolise stored fat. Try for six to eight glasses of water a day.

Treat yourself - Ideally you should book a course of facials 6 months leading up to your wedding and avoid having a facial within the last week before your big day. Katherine Daniels offer a selection of beautiful facial treatments for all skin types. The Age Defence Nourishing Hydrating Facial is 80 minutes of luxury and brings instant brightness back to the skin. For the bride with less time, there is also a 40 minute Express, Energising Radiance Treatment. You can see the full range of treatments and your nearest salons using the Salon Finder.

Hit the gym - When we work up a good sweat, we cleanse the skin of environmental toxins. Don’t forget to remove the grime afterwards and cleanse and tone thoroughly.

It’s never too late - Start using a serum. They are much more concentrated than a cream, so you tend to only need a small amount daily to see results. Used underneath your day or night cream, the ingredients penetrate deeper and work harder. The Katherine Daniels Rehydrating Concentrate acts as a barrier on your skin protecting it from the harsh elements, so not only is it deeply hydrating, it’s great for skin defence. And it smells divine!

Catching some Zzz’s - One of the best-kept anti-ageing secrets, and key to a glowing, youthful complexion, is a good night's sleep. It's during those precious hours that our cells repair damage.

Ban the bloat - Opt for fresh herbs to flavour foods rather than table salt. Also, cut back on Caffeine—both increase puffiness, dark circles and a dull complexion.

Exquisite Eyes – Katherine Daniels Multi-Tasking Eye & Lip Balm brings a soft, smooth finish to the delicate eye area without leaving the skin greasy. It has an extra fine, silky texture, brings radiance and lifts eyelids, and works against puffiness, dark circles, fine lines and wrinkles. A bridal MUST!

Bye Bye sugar - Limit your intake of sugar, anything processed, fizzy drinks and fruit-juices as they all contribute to making your skin appear dull and pasty and your face puffy!

A Rainbow a day - Eat colourful fruit and vegetables and aim for at least five portions a day. Betacarotene, found in Pumpkin, Carrots and Sweet Potato, and Proteins found in Kale, Papaya and Spinach are potent antioxidants, important for normal skin cell development and healthy skin tone.

Go Green - Calm redness with Green Tea - it's very high in antioxidants, particularly one named EGCG, which is proved to reduce redness. Sip at least one cup of Green Tea a day and fight red skin.

Plump it up – To get your lips looking full and at their most You-may-now-kiss-your-bride-able, invest in a lip plumper. Katherine Daniels have an amazing Plumping Lip Balm, containing Hyaluronic acid filling spheres, which restructure your lip volume and contours and leave your puckered pout feeling silky, and smelling delicious. Apply under your favourite lipstick and you’re ready to go.

Pearly whites - Look after your teeth too. You should avoid drinking coffee, dark fizzy drinks and red wine in the weeks leading up to your wedding to reduce teeth stains.

Put the phone, down! - Your phone is riddled with germs! All those germs land right on your cheek and jawline every time you chat away causing spots and irritation. To keep your phone (and face) bacteria-free, wipe it down with an antibacterial wipe a few times a day.

All you need is love – Remember to not lose sight of why you’re even having a wedding, LOVE! Smile and enjoy every minute and you will radiate the happiest glow of all.
